Privacy Policy for Crossia
Last updated: February 2026
This Privacy Policy describes our policies and procedures on the collection, use, and disclosure of your information when you use the Service and tells you about your privacy rights.
1. Data Collection and Usage
Crossia is designed with privacy as its core priority. The app operates as a localized tool for your spiritual journey.
No Personal Data Collection: We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data (such as names, email addresses, or phone numbers) to any external servers.
Local Storage Only: All content created within the app—including journal notes, prayer entries, fasting logs, and settings—is stored exclusively on your local device.
Audio Privacy: Voice reflections are recorded and stored locally on your device. We do not collect, stream, or upload your audio files to any server.
No Third-Party Sharing: Since we do not collect your data, no information is ever sold, shared, or transmitted to third parties.
2. App Permissions
To provide its core features, Crossia requires the following permissions:
Microphone: Requested solely to allow you to record audio notes. Audio is processed locally and never leaves your device.
Notifications: Used to provide reminders for fasting and prayer. You can manage these at any time in your device settings.
Biometric Authentication: If enabled, Crossia uses your device's built-in biometric sensors (Fingerprint or Face ID) for secure access. We do not collect, store, or have access to your biometric data. All authentication is handled entirely by your device's operating system (Android/iOS).
3. Third-Party Services & Support the App
While the app operates locally, we use specific external services for essential functions:
Google Play Services: Used to support app functionality and manage in-app purchases related to optional app support.
Payment Information: All financial transactions—including optional one-time support purchases (for example, "Share a blessing")—are handled exclusively by the Google Play Store.
Data Handling: Crossia does not collect, store, or have access to your credit card details, billing address, or personal financial identifiers. We only receive a technical confirmation from Google to acknowledge your purchase/support.
Support the App: Any one-time support purchase is entirely optional and is intended to support the ongoing development and maintenance of the app. It does not require you to create an account and does not change our zero-tracking approach.
4. Data Security and Encryption
We use industry-standard measures to protect your local data:
Local Encryption: Your journal notes, audio files, and intentions are encrypted locally on your device.
Secure Key Storage: Encryption keys are managed through the Android KeyStore or iOS Keychain.
Password-Protected Backups: Crossia allows you to create password-protected backups of your local data. We do not have access to your backup password.
5. Important Disclaimer: User Responsibility
Zero-Knowledge Architecture: Because we do not store your encryption keys or passwords on any server, the developer has absolutely no access to your data.
App Uninstallation: If you uninstall the app or clear app data, your local data and local encryption keys are permanently removed from this device. However, previously exported encrypted backup files can still be restored after reinstall, as long as you keep the backup file and remember its password.
No Data Recovery: We cannot recover your data, reset your passwords, or retrieve lost files. You are solely responsible for managing your device security and backup passwords.
6. Children's Privacy
Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone.
7. Changes and Contact
We may update this policy periodically. We will notify you of changes by updating the "Last updated" date. For any questions, contact us at: [email protected].
